All the more reason to renew your student membership or sign up to the DIA if you haven’t already:

The Design Institute of Australia is excited to announce an exclusive, ‘members only’ tour of Chippendale’s newly refurbished The Old Clare Hotel, accompanied by project architect Tim Greer of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects (TZG).

The Old Clare Hotel is located within two iconic heritage-listed buildings; the former Clare Hotel pub and the Carlton & United Breweries Administration Building. The two buildings have been sensitively fused by TZG to form a visionary new boutique hotel, enhanced by unique fixtures and furnishings from a range of local designers.

Join host Karinna Gobbo and architect Tim Greer for your opportunity to discover the enchanting style and features of the hotel, which encompass heritage spaces, lofty ceilings, original windows, timber panelling and exposed original walls. Karinna’s passion and enthusiasm for hotel design and the opportunity to engage with the architect, will heighten this rare and insightful exploration of one of Sydney’s brilliant architectural and interior design gems.

6:00pm until 7:30 pm + stay on for a drink at the bar – Thursday, 10 March 2016 – Tuesday, 16 February 2016

Cost:     $20 DIA members only (tour only)
