On Wednesday 4 March, Design Practice 3 conducted a site visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens. The site is in the Lower Gardens and has spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera Hose and Harbour and is the basis for a five week project for a teahouse, partially embedded into the landscape.
The project is the first of two projects this semester that focus on an understanding of materiality as the embodied experience of materials, their sensory qualities as experienced, modified and mutated in the inhabitation of the interior environment.
