Three Australian projects have been honoured in the sixth annual UK and International Restaurant and Bar Design Awards, presented in London on 25 September 2014.

Leading the charge is Industry Beans designed by Figureground Architecture. The Melbourne coffee house and roastery was judged best cafe in the UK and International category. Two other Australian projects – Howler (Melbourne) by Splinter Society Architecture and Penfolds Magill Estate (South Australia) by Pascale Gomes-McNabb Design – were honoured in the International category.

The Australian entrants were up against stiff competition with 840 submissions from over sixty countries received. In 2014, the Best Bar Award went to Fei (China) designed by A.N.D. and Best Restaurant was awarded to Les Haras (France) by Jouin Manku.
